Our commitments

Our commitment to safety

At Nexans, the safety of employees and customers is a prority, whatever the environment (workplace, leisure, health or residence). Safety during a fire is part of this approach and is a dedicated area of focus in the development of new products.

Research

Research has shown that cables could significantly contribute to the preservation of the integrity of electrical circuits, containing a fire and reducing the formation of dense smoke and irritating gases. Nexans develops world-class materials and technologies to ensure the best properties and characteristics for its products.

We are committed to improving safety in buildings by protecting people’s lives and property from fire with our full range of fire safety cables and ongoing innovation. During the last 3 years, Nexans has invested in 12 projects dedicated to fire performance of material, which led to the creation of more than 10 patents a year in this area.

Safety is a matter of synergy

New, safer materials developed by Nexans Research Centres are immediately adopted by manufacturing units in the production of ALSECURE® cables, thanks to the work of local development teams. The experience and collaborative work of local development teams guarantee design resilience and the reliability in the manufacturing process for all our cables. Aside from performance in a fire, the special care given to the usability of ALSECURE® cables by the development team guarantees quick and correct installation.
