Nexans can now offer production of medium-voltage kit consisting of medium voltage cables and various medium-voltage termination from Nexans Euromold.
Nexans has been approved by the largest wind turbine supplier and has now started with the first deliveries of medium voltage kits for this customer.
Approval of medium voltage cables and medium voltage kits have been a longer process because the client has had a number of requirements for medium voltage kits. Torsion test, temperature,terminations etc.
The Nexans factories who have been involved in medium voltage cables and medium voltage kit are two German factories Nexans Mönchengladback which has been responsible for the development of 3x70/70mm2 20/35KV medium voltage cables, and Nexans GPH Hof as supplied various Euromold end termination used by the customer.
Nexans expect to deliver around 400 medium-voltage kits in 2010.
