Description

Characteristics & Applications

This cable is designed for direct buried installation. Its metallic armour provides a high resitance to compression and an excellent rodent protection

The cable characteristics are the following:

  • Tube filled with Jelly
  • High rodent protection
  • Metallic Armouring
  • Capacity up to 24 fibres
  • Waterproof structure
  • Reinforced outersheath with UV resistance

Nexans fibre cable UC can include MM62.5, MM50 and SM G652 fibres.

For MM we offer different grades of fibre to suit your application: GIGAlite, GIGAlite II, GIGAlite 3 (MM50 only) or GIGAlite 4 (MM50 only).

Installation

  • Set cutter blade at 2.00 mm
  • Cut at 1.5 m distance from the cable end
  • Remove sheath and armour in one operation
  • Cut glass yarns

Construction

  1. Gel filled tube containing up to 24 individually coloured fibres
  2. Glass yarns reinforcement
  3. Corrugated steel tape armour
  4. PE outer sheath
