Nexans Space Saving Solution (N3S) provides simple, versatile and compact cross connection or patching, termination and splicing of optical fibre cables with fibre counts from 48 to more than 384. Two alternative systems solutions are available S and TS.
The modular design of the system S is constructed in terms of families each comprising of one splicing frame and up to five patching frames with the splice frame directly connected to the patch frames. Every individual frame utilizes a floor space (footprint) of 300x600 mm and one single family can accommodate up to 7680 SC-connectors. A family can be placed against a wall, stand alone or back-to-back against another family. Each patching frame has a patch cord ladder S and the splicing frame a cable ladder. The patching is done by the use of a limited number of lengths of patch cords. The family can be extended stepwise according to requirements.
In system TS the splice frame is located away from the patching frame (e.g. adjacent room/cellar). The patching frame is fitted with a patch cord ladder TS. One single patching frame can accommodate up to 1536 SC-connectors. In this solution there is no limitation of the number of frame placed together.
The fibre optic patching modules are in-factory pre-terminated and delivered with 20 m of butt cable. Addition of a new patching module is simple by straight cable splicing in the splicing modules. For more details see the below product description.
